BIOGRAPHY

Lyric coloratura soprano Samantha Jenee Laumann is a vocalist who has performed in equity and non-equity houses across America. Samantha first started her musical training as a scholarship student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2002. The following year, she transferred to the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts under the instruction of Marion Pratniki where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance in 2006.

In 2010, she became a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music with a Master’s of Music in Musical Theatre Performance. She studied voice under the instruction of Monique Phinney and performed in master classes with some of Broadway’s top casting directors, agents and musical directors including Michael O’Flattery, Richard Fisher, and Ray Roderick.

In completion of her Masters, Mrs. Laumann served as playwright, director, orchestration of her first original musical know as "Hatikvah the Hope" which she hopes will be published in the coming years.

Previous stage and theatre roles include Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Belle (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), Marion Paroo (The Music Man), Jo March (Little Women), Babe (Crimes of the Heart), Jo Briggs (Independence), Dorothy (The Wizard of OZ) and performed in several ensembles for the A.J. Opera Institute, and served as a background vocalist for Ben Folds. Samantha has worked with New York Casting Directors and Agencies including Tara Rubin, and Telsey & Company.

Samantha is a lecturer at the University of Minnesota as a Vocal Coach and Instructor for the BFA Guthrie Theatre Program.
